Water Treatment Exam Special! Exam Review and Contact Hour Workshop Grades 1 & 2

Mar 30-31, 2026: 2-Day Water Treatment Operations- 14 Contact Hrs./1.4 CEUs

  • This class provides a review of all the primary aspects of conventional surface water treatment plant operations in lieu of the Long-Term Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Regulations (Stage 2) and the new Disinfection byproduct regulations for operators grades 1-4. Contained in the conventional filtration section will be specific emphasis on coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation and filtration, including chemical pre and post treatments. Some additional aspects of Advanced Treatment such as membranes, dissolved air flotation and reverse osmosis are also included with advances in solids contact clarification including ballast sand and similar other operations.

April 1-2, 2026: 2-Day Water Treatment Math, Gr. 1-214 Contact Hrs./1.4 CEUs

  • A scientific calculator is required for this math class.
  • This class is a basic study of process math with an emphasis on the Step-by-step solution method, process formulas, conversions, pounds problems and volume formulas, dosage/demand/residual, simple solution problems, velocity, filtration,
  • hydraulics and pump problems. Disinfection and sedimentation problems are taught and practiced in this class.

April 3, 2026: Disinfection of Public Water Supply 7 Contact Hrs./0.7CEUs

  • Students will study the subject of disinfection from a summary of Federal Drinking Water Regulations to Chlorine Safety. Student will learn to identify the properties of chlorine, dosage, demand and residual problems, breakpoint chlorination, disinfection by-products (THM’s), alternative disinfectants together with liquid and gas chlorination practice problems.
