SUMMARY:Intermediate Water Supply Principles Course & Contact Hour Workshops Grades 3-4
DESCRIPTION:November 12\, 2026: Title 22/EPA – 7 Contact Hrs./0.7 CEUs \n\nOperators will evaluate MCLs\, record keeping requirements\, operational regulations and personnel legislation. Operators will interpret and apply these laws as they relate to all areas of the water industry in California. Students will also review a compilation of the most current regulations issued by Groundwater and Drinking water division of the EPA.\n\nNovember 13\, 2026: Sources\, Wells & Surface Water/Groundwater Rule – 7 Contact Hrs./0.7 CEUs \n\nThis class addresses water sources\, the hydrologic cycle\, water supply\, water quality constituents\, ground water\, surface water\, and water quality parameters.\n\nNovember 16-17\, 2026: 2-Day Water Distribution Operations – 14 Contact Hrs./1.4 CEUs \n\nThis class is a condensed overview of potable water delivery throughout a typical community water distribution system from treated supply to residential and industrial user. Students will review the basic water distribution processes\, equipment and methods to better prepare for common questions encountered on a water distribution operator certification examination.\n\nNovember 18-19\, 2026: 2-Day Water Distribution Math\, Gr. 3-4 – 14 Contact Hrs./1.4 CEUs \n\nA scientific calculator is required for this math class.\nOperators will compute mid- to advanced-level problems using the step-by-step method. Process unit formulas\, conversions\, complex volumes and blending problems\, chemical solution calculation\, hydraulics and pressure\, velocity and flushing formulas and calculations prepare operators for the complex mathematical calculations that may be encountered in daily operations.\n\nNovember 20\, 2026: Disinfection of Public Water Supply – 7 Contact Hrs./0.7 CEUs \n\nStudents will study the subject of disinfection from a summary of Federal Drinking Water Regulations to Chlorine Safety. Student will learn to identify the properties of chlorine\, dosage\, demand and residual problems\, breakpoint chlorination\, disinfection by-products (THM’s)\, alternative disinfectants together with liquid and gas chlorination practice problems.\n\nClick here for more information
