SUMMARY:Water Treatment Exam Special! 5-Day Exam Review and Contact Hour Workshop Grades 3 & 4
DESCRIPTION:April 13-14\, 2026: 2-Day Water Treatment Operations- 14 Contact Hrs./1.4 CEUs \n\nThis class provides a review of all the primary aspects of conventional surface water treatment plant operations in lieu of the Long-Term Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Regulations (Stage 2) and the new Disinfection byproduct regulations for operators grades 1-4. Contained in the conventional filtration section will be specific emphasis on coagulation\, flocculation\, sedimentation and filtration\, including chemical pre and post treatments. Some additional aspects of Advanced Treatment such as membranes\, dissolved air flotation and reverse osmosis are also included with advances in solids contact clarification including ballast sand and similar other operations.\n\nApril 15-16\, 2026: 2-Day Water Treatment Math\, Gr. 3-4 – 14 Contact Hrs./1.4 CEUs \n\nA scientific calculator is required for this math class.\nThis class is a basic study of process math with an emphasis on the Step-by-step solution method\, process formulas\, conversions\, pounds problems and volume formulas\, dosage/demand/residual\, simple solution problems\, velocity\, filtration\, hydraulics and pump problems. Disinfection and sedimentation problems are taught and practiced in this class.\n\nApril 17\, 2026: Disinfection of Public Water Supply- 7 Contact Hrs./0.7CEUs \n\nStudents will study the subject of disinfection from a summary of Federal Drinking Water Regulations to Chlorine Safety. Student will learn to identify the properties of chlorine\, dosage\, demand and residual problems\, breakpoint chlorination\, disinfection by-products (THM’s)\, alternative disinfectants together with liquid and gas chlorination practice problems.\n\nClick here for more information

SUMMARY:5 - Day Certified Laboratory Program California Title 22\, Section 64415 - Laboratory and Personnel
DESCRIPTION:5 – Day Certified Laboratory Program \nCalifornia Title 22\, Section 64415 – Laboratory and Personnel \n35 Contact Hrs./3.5 CEUs \n\nThis class is a five-day certified laboratory classroom program for Level I operators. This class will provide accredited classroom instruction on laboratory procedures required to properly test and analyze water and wastewater samples. This class will emphasize microbiological and chemical laboratory procedure for plant performance monitoring\, based on specific rules\, which include\, but are not limited to the: Total Coliform Rule and/or Revised Total Coliform Rule\, Groundwater Rule\, Lead-Copper Rule\, Surface Water Treatment Rule\, and Chemical Rule.\nThis class will review laboratory testing and analysis based on state (CCR Title 23) and federal (40-CFR) regulations. This class also includes discussion topics specifically related to the Safe Drinking Water Act\, Consumer Confidence Report\, Rules for Public Water Systems (PWS)\, etc. The Certified Laboratory Level 1 Operator class summary of content is broken down into six (6) modules that shall include coursework for operators to learn\, perform\, demonstrate\, and practice laboratory protocols.\nScientific calculators are required for the math portion of this class.\nA final examination will be administered and a minimum score of 70% must be achieved to pass.\nUpon successful completion of this course\, students will receive a Certificate of Competence as well as a wallet card to verify their certification status.\nCertificate of Competence is valid for 2 years from the date of class completion.\nThe Certification can be renewed for the next 2-year period by completing a 2- day refresher class and passing the final exam.\n\nClick here for more information
